Nothing to report. Our gig for the Catholic youths went really well. We haven’t really moved forward as a group but I’m still hoping for the best. I’ll try to keep everyone posted.
CFW update
•November 23, 2008 • Leave a CommentHowdy campers!
Sorry for the delay in posting. CFW is undergoing a few changes. First off, Stan has left the band. His calling has changed and he is moving on to new things. CFW is still moving forward. Our next gig is going to be the Catholic Youth Convention in the spring. The break comes at a good time. Carrie is in the process of moving to a new house. If any of you have moved, you know what a hassle that can be. She will be all moved in by then and we can concentrate on getting back into the groove.
We’ll keep you posted. Have a merry Christmas.
A pretty good night
•September 3, 2008 • Leave a CommentWe rehearse almost every week, but something special happened last night. We were working on “Pour Out Your Spirit” by Tom Lane. About halfway through, I found myself lost in worship. A calming peace washed over me. I realized just how awesome that feeling was and I began to understand the reason I am in CFW. I crave that feeling. I want the whole world to have that feeling. I didn’t want that moment to end. Sadly, it did as we wrapped up rehearsal. I am a lucky man. I figure I perform worship music around 10 hours a week, not counting personal rehearsals or just hearing worship music. That probably boosts the total to 20 or 25 hours a week. Not bad, but not enough.
Summer in the City!
•June 22, 2008 • Leave a CommentSummer is hardly a day old and CFW is already taking advantage of it. We played on West Ave between Hampshire and Massachusetts. They closed of a city street and had sort of a tent revival. There were free hot dogs, prizes for the kids, a mime and CFW for live music. We were there for a few hours and everyone on the block knew about it. We had lots of people stop by. I took a few photos-
View from the tent looking out. The weather was schizophrenic and kept switching between sunshine and rain. This was a sunny period!
This is the Mime
Free Hot Dogs!
We are doing it again next Saturday at 3PM on block over on Fargo.
Just doing some housekeeping….
•June 17, 2008 • Leave a CommentTonight I am doing some housekeeping on the CFW mailing list. We had a few people give us their email addresses to manually add to the list so I took a few minutes to update that. Want to be added to the list? It’s easy, there are a few ways.
1. Shoot me a comment that you want to be added and I’ll add you
2. Click on the Join email list on the web site. One note, this method will require you to respond to an email to confirm your subscription.
3. Stop by any CFW event and sign the email sheet.
See, it’s easy. We generally send out one email reminder every month, so we don’t overload you with emails.
Saturday Night at the Bridge Coffee House
•June 15, 2008 • Leave a Comment
This is the Bridge Coffee House on Grant Street on the west side of Buffalo. The Bridge coffee house is located in the Last Days Fellowship. It is not a flashy place, nor does it serve fancy espresso. It serves God. This portion of the west side needs places like the Bridge. the people that live in this area are not well off. This section of town is rampant with cell phone outlets and hair salons, not cafe’s and bistros. This is not where the well to do come. That doesn’t stop the Bridge from serving the community. They have a table full of canned goods for the taking. They have clothing. They have a church.
CFW played there Saturday night and we had a great time. We felt a connection with the people there. There is something special happening here.
It looks like we are moving in, we kind of did move in. We have a few vans full if gear and we used a good bit of it. This is just the bass rig, amps for the front of house and the cases for cables.
This is the view from the stage. The bridge is not a huge place, but it isn’t about the size of the building, how pretty it is or any of that . It’s about doing God’s work, and the Bridge is certainly doing that.
We want to thanks Last Days Fellowship and the Bridge for having us. Please stop this place and say hello.

CFW at Acts Coffee House
•June 13, 2008 • Leave a CommentCFW played Acts Coffee House a couple of weeks ago. It was on a Friday night and we were set to start at 8. This is not a tail of a great gig, even though it was. This is a tale of late starts, new songs, free coffee and free worship.
First, we thought were getting in at 6:30. It would up being like 7:20 or so. It takes us about 60 minutes to unload, set up, and tune the system. We got all that done in record time around 8 and decided to start right away. Tammy would just have to “fix it in the mix” – btw, I hate that phrase. Everything went really well and we decided to do the new songs we had been working on. They went really well too.
By now we were pretty happy with life and Jay decided to buy some of the audience coffee!
Just goes to show you that you never know what is going to happen at a CFW gig!
Friday Night at the Beacon
•May 31, 2008 • Leave a CommentLast night – Friday- we played at the Beacon Coffeehouse in Alden, NY. I’d love to say that we played to a packed house, but that is not true. We had a small group. It turns out that most of them had never heard us, so that was really nice. We did play a couple of new songs and they went really well.
The Beacon Coffeehouse is a really nice place. They have great coffee and deserts and a nice cozy feel to to the place. They have a stage at one end and a few tables to sit and chat. A couple of couches fill out the venue. They have live music every week, It’s worth the trip out to Alden .
CFW Update
•May 19, 2008 • Leave a CommentOK, so it has been a while since my last post. The truth is that right now, things are pretty routine. CFW rehearses ever week. We are booking gigs, but the onslaught is still a few weeks off. We are adding new songs. We have recorded Tammy’s songs, but the CD is not quite finished. So in reality, nothing is changing.
So I’ll tell you about some of the new songs we are adding to our set.
We are adding 2 new songs by Stan- Thank you Jesus and Hand of God. We are having fun working on these and they rock.
We have added 2 songs by Carrie- Martha and Bring you home.
We’ve added 2 songs by Tammy- I love you Jesus and Discover the way.
We have also added You’re worthy of my Praise- Big Daddy Weave style and I can Only Imagine – the Amy Grant Version.
Catch them at our next event at Acts Coffee House on May 30th
