Getting back on track

Funny, when it rains, it pours. CFW is getting back into the swing of things. We have a bunch of gigs lined up, but as of today, I don’t have all the details. We have hooked up with a street ministry for this summer and hope to do 2 street events a month. We have a few coffeehouses lined up. We are playing at St Vincent’s this coming Thursday for their youth group. It may seem like a lot, but it is  barely a drop in the bucket. We have lots of openings for more events, just let us know!!

Here is an update on the recording process. As you may know, our sound engineer Tammy is a prolific songwriter. She has a whole CD’s worth of music she wanted us to record. We have recorded all but one song and most songs are in post production at this time. Once the CD is ready, I’ll let everyone know.

New CD in the works?

The answer is yes, and yes. CFW is recording our own originals and recording a bunch of song written by our own Tammy Stanek, our sound engineer. Tammy has written a  Cd’s worth of songs that she wants recorded and she has asked us to record them. How Awesome is that? So for the next few months, CFW will be in the studio laying down the tracks for all our new stuff.
We look forward to having a yes answer to the question “Do you have any CD’s?”

New Songs

CFW is working on new material. We are writing a few originals and we are also adding a bunch of new covers.  As the weeks go by, I’ll post the progress of this process. As of today, we have begun to perform 2 originals that were written by Stan, and one by Carrie. Stan’s two songs are called Hand of God and Thank You Jesus. Both are outstanding songs that have great lyrics, music and a fantastic message. Carrie’s song is called Martha and we are putting the final touches on that one.

We are adding a few new songs but popular artists. Everybody Praise the Lord by Lincoln Brewster,  Sunday School Rock by Carmen are 2 we are working on. IT’s shaping up to be a great new year

If we have a gig it must be Saturday!

CFW is playing today at Delightfull`s Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shoppe. It’s located at 496 West Main Street in Arcade . I’ve heard that this place getsw quite the crowd, so I look forward to seeing you there tonight. Stop by and say hi!

City Mission.

CFW played at the City Mission last night. In Buffalo, the City Mission is a last resort for homeless men. We met dozens of Buffalo’s homeless. Some had been on the streets for a while, some just down on their luck. Part of the deal there is you attend a chapel service in return for a meal and a bed. Not a bad deal really, and all these guys need God. I’m happy to report that three men stood up and accepted Christ last night.

We changed up the order and started with Some kind of wonderful. They loved it and we kept them involved the whole evening. If you’ve ever been to one of our shows, you know we ask how many times Stan says “I Believe” in the song I Believe. They were shouting out the number and singing along.  Most of them had the right number.

For the readers that are interested in the equipment side of this, we went with a small set up. We placed one set of mains behind us to function as both monitors and mains speakers. We used a small makie powered mixer and only ran vocals through it. I used a small bass rig. The sound was really quite good and I think we did a good job with the venue.

All in all, a great night and an enjoyable gig!

Oops- where did the time go?

I can’t believe that a week has shot by. I wanted to post about Takin’ it to the Streets” right away, but life has gotten in the way. The gig was great. We were pressed for time, but we still played a few songs and we seemed to do pretty well. We had a lot of great complements afterword and we really enjoyed the crowd and the gig. All in all it was a very worthwhile gig. We heard that 50 kids accepted Christ at the event- Wow

Taking it to the Streets

We are playing “Taking it to the Streets” today at 3 PM in Martin Luther King Park.It looks like a great day to go to the park. See you there!

Busy Weekend

We finally got to play a gig. Three actually. We played at Crossroads on Friday, Convoy of Hope Saturday and Korner Kafe on Saturday Night. Next week we are playing at Takin it to the streets. I try to get a web site to post.

Friday we played a full concert with our own PA system and it went great. Saturday afternoon’s gig was a plug and play gig where we use supplied sound gear and backline. That went OK, but they were running late and the cut our time.-(CAUTION - RANT APPROACHING) I understand that they ran late. Having worked many festival type events I can see how you can run late, but you don’t take all that time from one group. That is just poor planning.  Oh well, we came. we had fun and everyone was blessed. ( END RANT)
Saturday night’s gig was at the Korner Kafe. We went with a smaller setup and played old school, just vocals in the PA and no monitors. It went reall well and it brought back good memories. We had a bunch of fun and really enjoyed the gig.

More gigs in the works

We have a few new gigs in the works, one as soon as July 29. If thing work out we will have 4 by Aug 10. Cool

One day- 2 shows

It has finally happened, we have two gigs on one day.  August 11th we have a gig at 2pm on the lakeshore and a second one at 7 or 8 PM at Korner Kaffe in Lancaster. This should be very cool. We need more stuff like this.
